  •   December 2007 -We welcome new partners Rotorua Energy Trust who have made a major contribution to this exciting community project and Bay Trust who have contributed a very worthwhile level of support to a Bay of Plenty asset. The Lion Foundation have again reinforced their belief in this project with a further grant.

  • May 2008. Publicity Day held for partners and other interested parties. Thanks to Rotorua Energy Trust for helping with the expenses on the day and Off Road NZ for the use of the Bush Camp and those nifty Suzukis.
  • May 2008. First Sovereign swings in behind us again with a grant towards the surface drainage.
  • June 2008. First Sovereign strengthened their partnership with a further grant enabling us to complete the surface drainage.  (Now well tested!)
  •  July 2008. New Zealand Community Trust (NZCT) provide great contribution for finalising stage 1 earthworks.
  • October 2008 Great news from The Lion Foundation with significant support enabling the sealing contract to proceed to negotiation and more - a grant for the design and specifications for the Control Tower. This building is a must have for the control of all race day activities.
  • December 2008  Yah! DownerEDIWorks join us as a partner and preparation for sealing begins.
  • December 2008 First Sovereign - back to help us and this time toward the important circuit sealing stage.
  • February - Happy New Year and a great milestone - preparation and asphalting of the track completed on the 5th February. Looks a great job.
  • April 2009 - a great month. Rotorua District Council and Hayes International join at the corporate partner level and really boost our progress. Their support will achieve more than half the Control tower.  NZCT provide further financial support for the sealing stages. Local companies Aries Construction, Andersen Drainage, Temprite Industries, Hickey Construction and Wilco Products chip in to move the Control Tower further forward.
  • April 2009 - Our Patron Greg Murphy is the first to test the track and loves it.
  • August 2009 - The Lion Foundation lend yet another great helping hand to advance our preparation for sealing the pit area.
  • October 2009 - The Southern Trust bring wonderful support enabling the contract for pits sealing to go ahead.  This will provide the on and off track pit lanes, the pits area surrounding the Control Tower and the driveway down from the upper level car park into the pits area.
  • October 2009 - Unison - The Powerlines People - join us as a Project Partner and greatly assist us in arranging for the kilometre of power line that will bring the energy to all those computers, lights, kitchens etc, etc to make this sporting complex work.
  • November 2009 - With the winter behind us we have reshaped some of the infield swales to work better with the drainage system. This has been followed by grass seeding and now we want those gentle warm rains please!
