An international standard KartSport circuit is being built in Rotorua.

The Rotorua KartSport Development Trust (a charitable sports trust) has been established by Rotorua Karters to create and own the facilites for the benefit of the wider community and the advancement of karting.  Rotorua Karters Inc. will manage the complex for the trust and run all Kartsport events.  When not being used for KartSport events the circuit will be leased to Off Road New Zealand Ltd. for casual and corporate karting.

The circuit will hold local, regional, national and international events.  The Rotorua community will have a venue for youth and families to race, improve driving techniques, sportsmanship, camaraderie and organisation skills. Everyone can enjoy the thrills of a sophisticated but economic form of motor racing that is popular world-wide.  Karting produces safer drivers and sporting champions!

Driving skills programme

The Trust is developing a driving skills programme aimed at reducing the number of accidents of young Rotorua and Bay of Plenty drivers on our roads. The programme will consist of multi stage theory and practical courses utilising qualified instructors and real cars on the Rotorua KartSport circuit.
